Paying for college often involves more than one resource. Military-affiliated students may be able to combine VA education benefits, Tuition Assistance, scholarships, tuition waivers, employment opportunities, and financial planning tools to reduce educational costs.

Interested in Working at the VMRC?
The Veteran & Military Resource Center periodically hires eligible students through the VA Work-Study Program. Students gain valuable professional experience while assisting fellow military-affiliated students, supporting office operations, and helping connect students with resources.
Contact the VMRC to learn more about current VA Work-Study opportunities and eligibility requirements.
Students interested in working in the Veteran & Military Resource Center must submit:
- An updated resume
- A cover letter
- VA Form 22-8691 (Application for Work-Study Allowance)
Please note that these application requirements are specific to the VMRC. Other approved VA Work-Study sites may require different application materials or additional documentation.
Military Tuition Assistance
Tuition Assistance, often called TA, is a Department of Defense education benefit that may help eligible service members pay for tuition while they are serving.
What is TA?
Tuition Assistance is administered by the military service branches, not the VA. Eligibility, approval timelines, annual limits, and required steps may vary by branch.
Before You Register
Students using TA should request approval through their branch education portal before the course begins. Contact your Education Service Officer or branch education office for guidance.
